CADE Estate

Gavin Newsom, Gordon Getty, and John Conover hired architect Juancarlos Fernandez to design Cade as a companion to their PlumpJack Estate Winery. Situated on Howell Mountain's slopes, Grassi built Napa Valley's first LEED Gold certified winery. The project included a 10,000 square foot structure for production, 20,000 square feet of caves, and a combined  3,300 square feet for the outdoor event areas, tasting room, and offices.   Fernandez's contemporary architecture features exposed concrete walls, recycled steel, Bendheim channel clerestory windows, and an inverted roof.  As a reference to PlumpJack, the architect designed the caves in the silhouette of a shield.
